MINEOLA - Another one of Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano’s administrative appointments is drawing criticism from Democrats.

Some Nassau Democrats say John Ciampoli should not serve as the county’s next attorney because he has had several federal tax liens against him.

On Thursday, four Nassau legislators held a news conference demanding Mangano reconsider Ciampoli’s nomination.

Ciampoli issued a statement calling the criticism “another witch hunt" by Democratic legislators.

News 12 Long Island also recently reported the county executive's pick for deputy director of minority affairs was a convicted felon.
